London Fashion Weekend - Part 3 - What We Saw

Included in our ticket was the chance to see a show showcasing the main four trends for A/W 15. The were four trends shown on the catwalk and here are a couple of pictures from each one.
(Sorry for the absolutely awful photos, being second row with a playing up camera made it terribly difficult!)

One and Only
This trend was about picking one colour and sticking to it! Head to toe looks came down the runway as well as bold colour clashes. This is the perfect trend for you if you like to stand out.

Candy Crush

Pastels for winter may not seem like the obvious choice but if fashion was obvious then it wouldn't be fashion!

Jungle Fever

This trend is a little more fun. Think animal prints and earthy colours as well as mixture of textures like leather and fur.

Fairy Tale Ending

Romance fell upon the catwalk as did the dresses and gowns adorned in lace, embellishment and detail. My personal favourite.

London Fashion Weekend - Part 2 - What They Wore

I have always been massively influenced by what other people wear and love putting my own twists on outfits or trends that other people are wearing. London Fashion Weekend was a mecca of inspiring and well dressed people! I wish I was brave enough to have asked other people for photos of their outfits but hopefully I shall become braver over time!

This post is just a few photos of some outfits that I enjoyed and have inspired me.

Those silver heels are from Primark! Can you believe it!?

The Best of Buenos Aires... Rapsodia!

Before I even walked through the door I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. The Rapsodia shop window alone was enough to make me stop in my tracks, gawp and practically run in!

The theme here was clearly embelleshment, and lots of it! It adorned all the the little black velvet jackets and dresses. The boho maxis also covered in beads just oozed glamour. I think it's safe to say that Rapsodia was the favourite shop I walked into the entire 7 months I was away and I really hope I will be able to purchase something from their online shop someday soon.

Here are some of my favourite looks from the latest lookbook. This was very hard to cut down to just a few!

Kind of reminscent of Kate Moss' latest collection for Topshop, no?

The Best of Buenos Aires... Complot!

After months and months of South American countryside, jungle and mountains, I was happy to finally be back in a city! Buenos Aires! This was the city I'd been looking forward to the most. Everyone I'd met that had been there said it was their favourite place so far and that the two weeks I had booked there still wouldn't be enough time to do everything the city has to offer!

But more importantly, I was looking forward to seeing what the clothes shops were like and lets just say I was not disappointed. Complot was one of the first shops I found. Argentina's answer to Topshop, but for a cheaper price. Here are my favourite pieces available from the online shop!

T-shirt - $30
Dress - $130
T-shirt - $18
Coat - $270

Vanessa Hudgens Coachella 2014

I´ve posted about Vanessa´s outfits at the Coachella festivals before and I have a feeling I won´t be stopping anytime soon as she continues to knock it out of the park in my opinion. Best. Festival. Dresser. Ever.
Here is my favourite look she wore this year.

The next few days will be spent finding a copy cat of this dress!

Ecuador finds!

Ecuador was full of good quality leather goods and I knew I had to get a rucksack the second I arrived and saw them absolutely everywhere. Not only are they having a fashion moment in the UK, (Cara´s Mulberry bags are to die for!) I thought it would also be a great souvenir for me to remember Ecuador buy, as well as being practical!

Woven shoes are something else I had been seeing all over the UK high street stores websites and I felt they were a great alternative to flip flops!

Here are some similar backpacks and woven shoes I´ve found.

Get the look - Ecuador!

It would be silly of me to be posting exactly the same as if I was still in England and not take advantage of all the culture and inspiration around me that I will most likely never experience again. So today my style crush is the country I´m currently in - Ecuador!

The Ecuadorians womens traditional dress is closest to the Inca clothing than any other area of the Andes. Lashings of gold and beads are layered over loose blouses and shawls.

Urban Outfitters Sun + Sky Lookbook

I think the letters that best describe the noise I made when I first stumbled across this lookbook was 'urrrhhhaaa.' Offically obsessed!!!
I´ve been looking for clothes like these for YEARS. Two years and eleven months to be exact, which was when I saw Vanessa Hudgens at the 2011 Coachella festival in that outfit. That crochet flower top and cut off shorts had me scouring the internet for days for similar tops and now, finally, nearly 3 months later, I´ve found not only the Vanessa top I´ve been dreaming about, but other incredible crochet and festival/beach inspired pieces. Take a look at my favourites...
Sorry the prices are in dollars, I´m doing this from Ecuador!

The crochet top similar to Vanessas ($39)

1. Bucket bag $68
2. Off the shoulder romper $69
3. Crochet tank top $69
4. Halter bikini $69
5. Loose white dress $89

Is there anything wrong with printed trousers?

Is there anything wrong with printed trousers?
They can be worn casual or smart, in winter and in summer, to a special occasion or just shopping. They look good in any colour, material, print and on any body type, but most importantly, they´re so comfy!!

Drool over these with me if you will...

A new kind of sandal

Spring/Summer has hit the stores and usually this would incur longing and whining about the long wait for summer and the summer clothes it brings with it. But luckily theres a summer trend that we can rock now. Thanks to the 90s revival currently happening, socks and sandals, the ultimate fashion sin, has now become a fashion WIN (please excuse me).

Socks and sandals go well with any outfit and can turn a blah look into a wow look. Plain dresses, shorts and a tee can instantly be transformed into a really cool outfit. Choose black fishnet socks if you really want to stand out! Here our some of my favourite picks of the highstreet currently available!

beach beach beach

Sunglasses - Wildfox
Dress - Thrift shop
Shoes - Ebay
Green ring - Costa Rican market
Other silver rings - H&M

Finally a chance to wear my jelly shoes! To the beach, bringing back memories of being a small child. Was so happy to find these on ebay really cheap and even happier when I found this dress the other day.
I was doing my usual round of the same old tourist tat shops by the beach, you know what I mean, the same things in every country. Beaded bracelets, wall hangings, standard homemade jewelery was everywhere when I decided to walk down a street away from the beach and I came accross a thrift shop! There were loads of lush bargains in there and I came away with some flared pattered trousers and this dress which is actually a night top!
It's really silky and a size XL and I just about get away with it being an extra short dress! Very comfy silky fabric too.
My ring is also something I got from a local Costa Rican market. Such. A. Sucker. For. Rings. Must stop buying...

Style Crush - Jemima Kirke/Jessa Girls

Ever since the first episode of American TV series Girls, I've been hooked. And not just for the hilarity and pure genius of it, Jessa's style has kept me enthralled for nearly three seasons now.
It's so laid back, bohemian and most important of all, it always looks like she just threw on the first clothes she found on the floor and didn't even bother looking in the mirror before she left. Effortless. Something everyone dreams of looking like. Not only does the character create this vibe, but the actress Jemima Kirke seems to be like this everyday - the long hair dont care attitude comes to mind.

Left and Right: On screen as Jessa
Centre: Jemima off screen at an event.

It's clear she likes kimonos and loose floaty outfits. Heres some things I found reminiscent of Jessa/Jemima's style.
