Urban Outfitters Ethnic Handbags

1. Elephant Cross-Body Bag - £28
2. Elephant Applique Duffel Bag - £55
3. Pom Pom Ethnic Backpack - £55
4. Stela 9 Green Bird Weekend Bag - £220

Now that I've finished college forever, I can finally start looking for handbags that I actually like, regardless of whether they could fit all my school books in or whether they were durable enough to carry it around all day! Now all I need them to carry is my purse, phone and a little make up!
My first stop to look for a handbag was Urban Outfitters and I needn't have looked further! They had a massive range of ethnic and embellished bags just the style I was looking for! The prices varied however, from reasonable (number 1) to extortionate (number 4) and although I would love to treat myself to number 2 or 3 more than anything at the moment I simply can't.
I can't help but kick myself when I think about how bags like this absolutely flooded the shops in India, (I used to live there,) but at the time I just didn't appreciate all the amazing shopping opportunities in front of me. But I can't really blame my 12 year old self too much.
These bags are perfect for summer or for brightening up a simple outfit and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for cheaper versions or copycats.

Friday Night Wish List - Gold and Floaty

Oh for a night out. Exams have arrived for me and my life outside of the revision walls of my house/library/college is going to become pretty much zilch. Just because I can't go out for another 5 weeks doesn't mean I can't dream of potential outfits though right?

I don't know if its all recent viewings of the Met Gala and TV BAFTAS but I've gone all posh and fancy!

1. Motel via Topshop - £50
2. ASOS - £20
3. Nasty Gal - £12
4. Zara - £29.99
5. Scott Wilson for Aqua via ASOS - £65
6. Miss Guided - £4.99

1. I've been searching for a dress like this ever since I saw Ashley Olsen and Vanessa Hudgens wearing something similar a few years ago. I love that the dress' sleeves are loose and flowing, yet still sexy with that low V cut neck. I really think this dress could look good worn in any way, be it day or night, fancy dinner or casual party. Here I've styled it up for a posh dinner maybe or a special event.

The dresses that inspired me to find one for myself!

2. How amaze are these tassel earrings?? When I went to India this is what all the ladies were wearing, and I remember thinking I'd never seen anything like it. But now ASOS have gotten in there and made loads of earrings in this style. This ones probably my favourite as I love the rusty gold and the little pieces dangling down.

3. What else would look better with this dress than a big fat statement necklace? I toyed with the idea of a colourful one, but really thought that gold  would give a more classic look. Contrast is something I'm all about and I love how the tough spikes juxtapose the soft angelic vibes of the dress.

4. I've been eyeing these beauties for weeks now and almost bought them so many times! Trying to think of a reason why not to buy them right this second! (You're meant to be saving Ruby! You have no money!!) I loooove how these shoes don't have a platform, am so over that now, come on high street, follow Zara's footsteps! Coral and gold are great colour combinations and I really couldn't fault this shoe in anyway.

5 & 6. Stacking up with rings a la Olsen twins really would finish this look off and these two gold rings fit into the rest of the outfit really well. The stone on the bird ring exaggerates its antique look, again, very Olsens. Do they ever wear anything other than vintage?

Thanks for reading!

Olsens at the Met Gala

was very keen to see Mary Kate and Ashley at the Met Gala this year after they disappointed me last year. I've loved they're style for years and they truly are fashion icons. This year they didn't let me down!

Mary Kate wore a vintage drop waist Chanel gown with gorgeous beading detail. On top a vintage (what else?) yellow silk coat with a flower print an fur trims. I didn't instantly like this at all, in fact I quite hated it when directly compared to Ashley's but when looked at on its own it really is quite stunning.

I think this is absolutely gorgeous and I'm utterly obsessed with this. Ashley is wearing vintage Christian Dior (my fave fave favourite designer label) and pulling it off better than anyone else could.
The colour, the shape, the embroidery! Everything about this dress is stunning and she looks like an angel.

It's obvious these sisters do things for the pure love of fashion and clearly only wear what they know and truly love. Although they're not wearing items from their own fashion label, The Row, they're still promoting their own style.

Boohoo traveler collection

So, I was on the phone to my mum the other day, chatting away about plans for the weekend, when suddenly I had to tell her to stop talking and wait a minute. Maybe I was over reacting at what I saw, maybe I was just being a drama queen (as my mum would say), but I had to stop what I was doing when I saw the latest boohoo advert on TV.

The Aztec prints on models trawling through the desert caught my eye right away. I love this print!! Or any print really for that matter. But to see it all together in one 'geo traveler' collection was something else. The bright colours and prints in a stripe pattern have such an exotic holiday feel. But not in a touristy way, in a real traveler way. Fab!

Here are some of my favourite pieces from the collection! I really hope I manage to nab something soon! (Ergh, money problems, at least I can look!)

1. Spike earrings - £6
2.Pleated skater skirt - £15
3. Cutaway crop top - £6
4. Drawstring bag - £15
5. Shorts - £8
6.Yellow studded necklace - £12
7. Flower/aztec printed trousers - £24
8. Beaded headband - £5
9. Black bag - £32
10. Rainbow maxi skirt - £15
11. Triangle necklace - £8
12. Multi-coloured bandeau top - £6
13. Printed skater skirt - £14
14. Drawstring shorts - £15
15. Slingback peep-toes - £32

Green Zebra

Firstly, an apology. Well, two apologies. First of all, I don't actually own a camera. Yes I would LOVE one but I don't have a job at the moment and it just isn't looking possible at the moment. So instead I'm using my iphone 4s. The reverse side though. The reason for is my second apology.
I am majorly unphotogenic, I really have been taking hundreds of photos with the proper camera side taking them, but in all of them I appear to be pulling a ridiculous face, or my neck is going off at a weird angle. It is very frustrating but I am going to really try and sort this problem out in the future. I've tried doing photos without my head in, but I just don't like them, I prefer to see the complete look on others and I feel hair and make up really is an extension of your outfit choice and can sometimes save an otherwise hideous look. (Or ruin it as well to be fair..)

So anyway I had a bit of time on my hands in college the other day as my friend wasn't in, so I found a blank wall and decided to try to take some photos...

Jacket - Forever 21
Top- Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Vans via Richmond Classics

Rings (l-r)
Gift from a secret santa
Gift from Barcelona
H&M

So believe it or not, I've never actually owned a pair of high waisted denim shorts before. Why? I really don't know! They've been in fashion for so long and you can adapt them to any style, or whatever you're into. So when my friend left hers at my house I had to nab them!

This top was a recent whim purchase in Topshop, which is what most of my Topshop purchases are to be honest. I usually go clothes shopping with my grandma who doesn't like to go out or stand up for long so it’s quite a rush around the shop. I find it more ideal that way as then I only ever buy anything when it really catches my eye. Like this zebra top did. I never wear green but I just love the embroidered zebra face on it and thought to try something a little different. I really do live in crop tops, as you’ll soon see for yourself.

I love this leather jacket and wear it most days if I’m honest. It was a super cheap Forever 21 one, about £30 I think. The cropped shape was ideal as it would look good with both cropped and long tops and would look better with an A-line skirt. The studs on top would give it a tougher edge I thought as I often wear quite girly or floaty outfits.

I love to wear rings and tend to go through cycles of wearing lots and lots for ages and then none at all. The one on the left was a secret Santa present that resembles a leaf I think and wraps around my finger perfectly. My thumb ring used to be blue but somehow over time it turned white which I actually think gives it a more interesting look. The massive elephant ring is definitely a little different and I thought it was perfect for me as I love animals and animal jewellery, particularly elephants and lizards.
Wow, I wrote quite a bit there, will try and keep it brief next time! Thanks for reading, would love to hear your thoughts!

Look at you!

ASOS

The sun is finally out! I don't know about you, but I have a ridiculous addiction to sunglasses. I have about 10 pairs. I just can't help it, there's so many styles and colours. You don't wear the same clothes every day so why wear the same sunglasses?? On a recent trip to Primark, I bought FIVE pairs, but at £1-£2 each, how could anyone resist!? They do tend to break quite easily and quickly, but at that price, it really isn't that much of a blow!

Gant - £125 (Or if you're jammy like me £12.99 at TK Maxx)

On the other hand I don't mind to spend a little more if I see a pair I really like and aren't just a fashion fad. A recent TK Maxx trip got me this pair of circular black Gant sunnies for just £12.99. When I got home I searched the internet for them and found them retailing for £125 on their website AND they were all sold out! Crazy.

Anyway these sunglasses are now all firmly on my wish list!

Here are some more sunnies on my wish list - not that I need anymore!

1. White is a great alternative to the standard black most sunglasses come in. They have a lush retro 70s vibe and would look perfect by the pool in a one piece. Possibly my favourite of the bunch!
ASOS - £13

2. Tortoise shell (my fave!) and with a slight cat eye shape. Ideal if you want to try something different but are a bit scared to try the full blown cat eye shape! These glasses would look good with any outfit!
Warehouse - £18

3. A festival favourite I'm sure! A bit more expensive, but as I briefly mentioned earlier, spending more on sunglasses is usually worth it. The vintage look of these will never go out of style, you really could wear these for decades and I love the bar across the top!
Wildfox - £196

4. Another expensive and perhaps more outlandish pair. These would be perfect for those who wish to stand out and make a statement! These thick framed Wildfox glasses have been seen on many a celebrity this spring and will be sure to turn heads.
Wildfox - £196

5. Nicole Ricchie anyone? I could definitely imagine these glasses on the ultimate boho-yet-glamorous fashion icon out there at the moment. A slighter posher upgrade of the ASOS ones, these give of a more classy vibe.
Urban Outfitters - £16

6. These sunnies are serious fun! The floral print, the vintage shape, even the metal bridge and detailing all give a great summery and laid back vibe. Wear them to the beach, where them to the shops to brighten up your look!
Oasap - £15

Friday Night Wishlist - Peaches and Cream

I don't know about you, but this week seems to be dragging! I haven't even had a full week at college yet it feels like I've been here for days and days!

But it's Friday tomorrow (yay!), which means whether you're hitting the town, going on a date or for dinner, it's time for a new night time outfit!
Although when is it not..?
Apologies for the heavily holiday themed but I just booked my holiday to Marrakech! Very excited.

1. Coral lace maxi dress - Topshop £52
2. Coin and diamante headband - ASOS £25
3. Buckled coral wedges - Steve Madden for Zappos £53
4. Sequined crop top - Lashes of London £15
5. Red stoned bracelet - Emilio Pucci £260 (I can dream?)
6. Aztec dress - All Saints £?
7. Feather earrings - Lipsy £8

1. The sheer skirt would be perfect for a summer night (we're getting there!) and could also be worked for a day dress if you happen to be lucky enough to go on holiday somewhere sunny! I know I use a lot (and buy a lot) of Topshop, but it never lets me down! And if it's not broke, why fix it?

2. Very Khloe Kardashian, oh how I wish I could pull one of these off. I think these look great when worn right and you've used enough hairspray to stop it bunching up at the top. It creates a lush boho glamour look, perfect for a meal by the beach. I also can't help but imagine it on a loose white dress with sandals?

3. What. A. Gorgeous. Colour. That is all.

4. Perhaps more suited for a night on the town, I love the use of colour and the slightly stained pattern on it. Lashes of London always stocks super cute and super affordable wear, staying on trend with its pieces as well as having its own clear personal style.

5. Okay, okay, ridiculously expensive but I just LOVE this. I'm sure there are some high street copy cats around but for now, I can just look and lust after this Pucci bracelet..

6. For years and years, All Saints and their sequined, embroidered, embellished, covered in coloured stone apparel has me nearly bursting with excitement when I see them in the flesh. They're just sooo pretty! 16 year old me was very close to persuading my mother to buy me one for prom, I got as far as trying it on, but shame about the price tag, usually ranging from £80-£300. Ouch.
One day.

7. They look great against all hair colour and skin tones. Who can go wrong with feathered earrings to finish off a look?

What are you lusting over for Friday night?

Rock N Rose - Flower Crowns

During a recent post about summer, I found a gorgeous flower crown, which got me to searching for more. During this search I discovered the jewelry and accessory brand - Rock N Rose.

Top left: This would be an amazing colour pop if you were looking to make that extra bold statement. Would look best on a chocolate brown hair.

Top right: My personal favourite! Massively over sized flowers in a gorgeous dark shade of red. This is from the Pixie Lott collection, and as it does on her, would look amazing on blonde hair with matching red lipstick.

Bottom left: Now this ones a little different considering green flowers don't actually exist (do they?) But I am nearly as in love with this as I am the red one. I think it would look fantastic on blonde, brown or ginger hair and am so tempted to buy it and try it out at Reading Festival this year!

Bottom right: Classic colours you could buy from any high street store, but still super cute and probably a good choice if you're wearing a flower headband for the first time or don't want to stand out as much.

Although if you're planning on wearing any of these, best be prepared for (jealous) stares!

Summer!?

Here in England, we recently had something that only happens rarely, something we don't see very often, but when we do everyone reacts - in a BIG way.
Heat is what I'm talking about. It reached 12 degrees last week, which to most people in the world is a blisteringly cold night, but here in the UK, we have grown accustomed to minus temperatures and snow. A lot of snow.

All this 'sun' has got the atmosphere at college buzzing. Talk of the summer, their plans, their holidays and most importantly of course - what they're going to wear!
My favorite part of summer is that fashion is more laid back and relaxed and I plan to get my legs out every single day, bathe in the sun and make daisy chains for my hair.

Here's my Spring wish list. What's on yours?

1. Cheetah Crop Top - Topshop £19
2. Turquoise Stone Ring - H&M £2.99
3. Flower Garland Head Band - ASOS £9
4. Paisley Denim Shorts - Topshop MOTO £42
5. Diamante Coin Hamsa Head Band £28
6. Moccasins - swell.com £27
7. Floral Kimono - ASOS £68

Style Crush - Vanessa Hudgens

So this is my first post on my new blog and what better way to start it out then with a post about my ultimate style crush - Vanessa Hudgens.

At Coachelle in 2012

For years I've admired her bohemian style and eagerly awaited for her looks to appear online or in magazines. Her outfits at Coachella two years ago were her at her best and I can't wait to lay eyes on this years looks!

Her Coachella 2011 looks

Vanessa first started to express her bohemian side around 2007, wearing hardly anything but maxi dresses with her soon to be trademark hairstyle. Through the years she got more and more into the gypsy bohemian vibe and oozed this laid back all the time, in every day wear and to special events.

Left: Vanessa at the High School Musical 3 premiere in a more relaxed red carpet look.
Right: Out shopping, Vanessa has mastered the effortless bohemian style.

How to get the look! As you can tell, a lot of it is down to accessories.

1. Hat - shoplovelybird.com $128 (Vanessa actually owns this!)
2. Brown studded boots - Office £50
3. Embroidered shorts - River Island £40
4. Turquoise bracelet - shopdixi.com £15
5. Cream crochet crop top - New Look £15
6. Fluro floral lace trousers - Topshop £75
7. Aztec tapered trousers - Topshop £38

In case you can't tell - I'm more than excited for summer and letting my inner hippie out!
